Italian Caprese Salad

A caprese salad is one of my all time favorites because of its simplicity and delicious flavor. This is one of those salads where keeping it simple proves to be the best. Ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella paired with a flavorful balsamic vinegar and fresh basil really is the best combination from Everyday Vegetarian. 

Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp

Strawberries and rhubarb are a classic combination balancing the sweet and slightly tangy flavors. With both of these being in season during spring I was thrilled to make this recipe for a strawberry and rhubarb crisp. As someone who loves an apple crisp during the fall this was the best spring alternative.

Erin from Color Me Styled had the brilliant idea to make these coasters for the holidays and paired with a bottle of wine they are such a fun hostess gift. 

Materials:

• Round cork coasters (available at craft stores or IKEA)
• Various acrylic paint colors
• Small paintbrushes
• Small circle sponge brush 
• Tape

You can personalize these coasters with custom colors, designs or initials and truly make these one of a kind for your friends. I obviously love polka-dots so I've been using these around my home this holiday season for entertaining. Get a little crafty this afternoon and you'll have the perfect gift for Christmas.
