Let's Fall In Love

Let's Fall in Love, Personal, Project Soiree

Let's fall in love? I know what you're thinking you already love me (just kidding). I first heard about this New York Times article from Hallie (and Cait) that discusses the theory of being vulnerable and open by answering questions (36 to be exact) can actually make you fall in love. You can read the full article here.

I've accepted the challenge to answer a few of the questions from the article so let's get started...

Would you like to be famous? In what way?
Honestly, the thought of being "celebrity" famous stresses me out. I mean who wants a camera following your every move? However, being recognized for an achievement (career, art, blogging, etc.) would be pretty amazing.

Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why?
For an important call (work, interview, pitch) I might do a little research, but otherwise I would never rehearse what I'm going to say. Sometimes being a little spontaneous during a conversation can give you the upper hand.

What would constitute a "perfect" day for you?
Waking up in Glen Arbor, MI to see the sunrise over Little Glen Lake with a cup of coffee and warm cinnamon roll. Spending the afternoon with family walking around Leland and enjoying lunch from the Village Cheese Shanty. The rest of the afternoon would be spent at Bonobo, Shady Lane Cellars and Aurora wine tasting and playing bags. Followed by dinner outdoors by the lake with a cold bottle of local Chardonnay and freshly caught salmon. Finally ending the day climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes and a bonfire by the lake with s'mores.

If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of of your life, which would you want?
Definitely mind - continuing to learn and stay sharp trumps having a great body.

Name three things you and your partner readers appear to have in common
1) Finding joy in the little things
2) The desire to be brave and try something new
3) Treasuring our unique gifts and talents

For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
I'm extremely grateful for the amazing friends and family in my life. The continued support, guidance and inspiration from my group of friends and extended family is something I'm truly thankful for. I'm a lucky girl.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?
I would love to wake up tomorrow and have a sense of bravery. You might remember "brave" is my word for 2015 so I'm really working on this. Taking chances and being brave no matter what challenges I encounter.

What do you value most in friendship?
I really value honesty, respect, and humor in my friendships.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
I would love to chat with Blake Lively and learn some secrets to her perfect hair and amazing sense of style.

If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?
I would literally pack my bags and just travel the world. I would be off to Paris, Rome, Madrid, Athens...

If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?
I think the greatest (and most challenging) part about life is the "not knowing." As much as I would like a few answers to my future I would pass on the crystal ball.

Is there something that you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?
My 101 in 1001 is a little glimpse into some of my dreams/goals. I've been dreaming of visiting Paris since the day I watched Passport to Paris (no joke) so that needs to happen ASAP.

What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
The greatest accomplishment of my life (so far) would be starting Project Soiree. This little blog has brought me so much joy meeting new people, working with brands I love and connecting with people who bring such inspiration to my life.

What is your most treasured memory?
Such a tough question...I'll never forget the most incredible pasta and wine at a side street cafe in Florence while I was studying in Italy during college. I also really treasure childhood memories of summer afternoons spent at my grandparent's house on Lake Michigan playing in the sand with my cousins, learning to play euchre in the gazebo and watching the sunset from the deck.

So are we in love?

xoxo

Sara

  2. I'm answering these on my blog tomorrow! I agree with traveling the world if I was going to die in a year. It would be time to stop worrying about money and just see and experience as much as possible!
