Piccolo Sogno's menu features fresh and seasonal Italian cuisine with an impressive Italian wine list. I should first mention that the bread basket filled with homemade focaccia, sourdough and bread sticks are seriously amazing. Dip the bread in their own custom olive oil and balsamic vinegar and be prepared to ask for more bread.
We couldn't stop talking about the special of the evening which was a seasonal antipasti plate filled with Italian favorites. The roasted beets, grilled eggplant and roasted tomatoes were incredible.
Piccolo Sogno features homemade pasta so of course we had to try the Spaghetti Neri "Frutti Di Mare" which included string cut black spaghetti, mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, San Marzano tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
And last (but certainly not least) for dessert we enjoyed the hazelnut lava cake with hazelnut gelato. I'm still dreaming about this cake...
You can also check out Piccolo Sogno's second location Piccolo Sogno Due in River North.

PS
I've eaten at Piccolo Sogno Due and it was amazing! I've been wanting to go to this location too. Yumm :)
ReplyDeletePiccolo Sogno might just be my favorite restaurant in Chicago. We've been several times and each time is wonderful. The Pasta Triangles with asparagus is probably our favorite dish! And I say "our" because I "taste" a good deal of whatever Danny ordered too!
