The flavors are out of this world at Jeni's. You won't find plain old vanilla or chocolate here so be prepared to venture outside your ice cream limits and try Chamomile, Pistachio & Honey or Whiskey & Pecans. My next visit might also include one of their famous ice cream sandwiches...
You probably aren't surprised to hear I had Dark Chocolate and Double-Toasted Coconut. The dark chocolate had a fudge like consistency (which I loved) and the double-toasted coconut had actually flakes of toasted coconut throughout the ice cream. I was in heaven.

PS
I adore Jeni's ice cream! I brought a bunch of pints to Thanksgiving last year (read: I brought seven) and they were all gone in 45 minutes. Salty Caramel, Whiskey Pecan, and their Black Coffee are fabulous!!

I went last week and after eating our ice creams, picked up the oatmeal ice cream cookie sandwich to go. Tasted like an oatmeal creme pie!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing!! I will have to check out this place, I have a feeling we will be long time friends!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, jealous. Jeni's is pretty get-able in pints in Cincinnati since we're close to the source (Columbus) - my favorite is the salty caramel. When we were on our little babymoon I was so excited to go to the actual Jeni's store in Columbus though to have it freshly scooped...and then the line was out the door and around the corner, so we skipped. Good to know I can add this to my list of things to do next time I visit my sister in Chicago :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard SO much about this place-- need to check it out. I'm a big ice cream lover to!
