A Soiree in Paris

I'm back from Paris! The trip was everything I dreamed (and more), but was honestly the perfect way to celebrate my 30th birthday. So what was my favorite thing? Read on for a little recap of my soiree in Paris.

A walk along Rue Cler (an amazing market street) was complete eye candy with flower stands, patisseries, chocolate shops and cafes. I stopped for a glass of rose on the patio at L'Eclair which was perfect for taking a little break before heading to the Eiffel Tower. Having a friend visit on my birthday, seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, and experiencing a macaron from Laduree on the Champs Elysees was also a highlight that made my 30th birthday one for the books.

Traveling on my own was a huge learning experience and I won't deny that I was a little nervous. Celebrating my birthday in Paris was a dream I've had for quite a few years and I'm glad I made the decision to go and follow my dreams. With limited internet access, a city full of history and delicious food and wine it was just what I needed to take a much needed break. A huge thank you to those back home who supported me on this adventure and helped me through a few road bumps. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you.

I absolutely loved walking the streets of Paris and coming across pops of color in the architecture or decor. Each street seemed to have it's own history and tell a story. I miss my daily caffe americano and croissant each morning...

I had a hard time deciding between an Airbnb or hotel in Paris, but I'm really happy I chose to stay at Hotel Le Walt. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful with recommendations and made my birthday in Paris extra special. The best part was having a metro stop right outside, a short walk to the Eiffel Tower and amazing restaurants down the Rue Cler nearby. I really treasured that view of the Eiffel Tower each morning.

  2. This sounds/looks AMAZING. So great that you went ahead and did it. My sister is debating whether to spend the money on doing Paris for her 30th this fall and I keep telling her DO IT because I really wish that I had (it was a dream, but so was having a baby, and so I was kinda busy with him at the time...). What a great view, and how fun that you could just unplug and explore. Jealous! :)
