Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake, Recipe, Project Soiree, Dessert

Strawberry shortcake is one of those classic desserts that (almost) everyone loves. The combination of fresh strawberries and a crumbly sweet biscuit is one of my absolute favorites.

Not only does strawberry shortcake taste incredible, but it's also super easy to make. Just make sure you leave the strawberry mixture to chill for at least an hour to get the most flavor from the berries. Enjoy!

Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh strawberries (halved)
1 tablespoons sugar
1/8 cup strawberry preserves
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1/2 cups Bisquick mix
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Combine the fresh strawberries, sugar, strawberry preserves and lemon juice in a small bowl. Cover and chill for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Combine the Bisquick mix, sugar, butter and milk in a medium bowl. The batter will be sticky. Drop by heaping spoonful on a un-greased cookie sheet. Top the dough with a sprinkle of sugar and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the tops turn slightly brown. Cool on a wire rack.
