Fab 5: Chicago's January Check List

1. Chicago Restaurant Week
Beginning January 24-Febuary 6 you can dine at some of Chicago's hottest restaurants during restaurant week. This annual culinary celebration features prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and $33 or $44 for dinner (excluding beverages, taxes and gratuity). I would recommend Summer House Santa Monica, Chicago q and Riccardo Trattoria.

2. Lord Huron at Metro
On January 30 Lord Huron will be performing at Metro. I've been a huge fan of Lord Huron and saw them perform last year at the Taste of Randolph. Trust me you won't want to miss out on this show.

3. Lincoln Square's Winter Brew
On Saturday, January 25 you can find local breweries on the 5th floor of the Dank Haus. This is the perfect event for a snowy Saturday afternoon with friends.

4. Art and Appetite at the Art Institute of Chicago
Head over the the Art Institute of Chicago to check out the Art and Appetite exhibit ending January 27. Here you'll find elegant and artistic arrangements of some of your favorite foods (don't visit on an empty stomach).

5. Enjoy a tiki drink from Three Dots and a Dash
If you're looking to escape the cold weather and snow head over to Three Dots and a Dash and pretend you're on an island vacation with a modern or classic tiki drink. You'll forget all about the winter weather outside while you sip a Mai Tai.
