Weekly Pick: Thoughts on Turning 25

In just a few days my sister is celebrating her 25th birthday, and since she's going through the typical 2-5 wake-up call I thought I would share some insight. Turning 25 makes you realize you're no longer in your carefree early 20's, and all of a sudden 30 is on the horizon making you feel like you should really have your life together. Well here's a little secret...no one should have their life figured out by age 25.

1. Make a 101 in 1001 list
Take some time to focus on your goals (both big and small) and make a 101 in 1001 list. Accomplishing something you've always wanted to do is what life is all about.

2. Don't be afraid to make mistakes
Just because you're 25 doesn't mean you should have everything figured out. Making mistakes is what you're 20's is all about, and if you're not making them you're doing something wrong.

3. Learn
Remember that you're never too old to learn something new.

4. You're never too old to watch Full House or the Parent Trap.

In the midst of it all just remember that getting older is a good thing. You won't be the same person you were last year, 5 years ago or 10 years ago (and you aren't supposed to be). Take time to embrace getting older and do it gracefully because with each year comes moments of joy, wisdom, tears, and growth. The future holds so many possibilities so keep looking forward and trust that the best is yet to come.

Cheers to 25 Kelli! I love you.

xoxo
