Weekend Pick: Launch Party for Nike Chicago LunarGlide+3

Looking for something to do this weekend in Chicago? Look no further and head out to the launch party for the Chicago LunarGlide+3 shoes this Saturday, October 1 from 3PM-5PM. Nike has teamed up Tara D (an extremely talented Chicago artist) to create a fashionable LunarGlide+3 shoe that's perfect for running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 9 or just running a mile or two on the treadmill at your gym.

The shoes are not only good looking but they also offer great stability, ultra soft cushioning and superior stability. These shoes truly are a runners dream.

The launch party will include an appearance from Tara D, an explanation on key things to remember when running this fall/winter and also four fall running looks styled by Chicago fashion blogger April Francis.

Hope to see you there!

xoxo

DISCLOSURE: Because I posted this on my blog I will be receiving a pair of LunarGlide+3 running shoes and a marathon shirt.

Y is for: Yellow

Mustard and sunny yellow are one of the hottest color trends this fall, and you can find it on just about everything from dresses, skirts, sweaters, coats and even accessories. Yellow brings a sense of warmth but also a punch of color to your outfit that helps livens up some of those dreary fall days. So radiate some of that summer sun into your fall wardrobe and you'll forget all about the cooler temperatures ahead.

You can find a similar look with these picks:
1. This versatile v-back dress from Zara is the perfect mustard yellow shade
2. Get this lightweight sunny yellow sweater from the Gap

What I'm Reading Now: KeepRecipes

Browsing through food websites is one of favorite pastimes (even though it makes me extremely hungry). But after browsing through the sites I always loose track of the recipes I wanted to try, and i'm left backtracking weeks later to find the meal my stomach had been growling for. Well I won't be backtracking anymore thanks to this incredible website called KeepRecipes. You can keep recipes from any website by adding their button to your browser, and the recipe will be stored in your virtual recipe box. You can also add your own family recipes or keep track of what your friends are cooking by following their recipes.

Weekly Pick: Best Dressed at the Emmys

Were you glued to the Emmy red carpet on Sunday? I'll have to admit that I was swooning over all the gorgeous dresses coming out of the limos. Red seemed to be the hottest trend to rock the carpet as well as a few lacy numbers. Below are a few of my absolute favorite dresses from the night.
Gwyneth Paltrow - Emilio Pucci

Minka Kelly - Dior

Nina Dobrev - Donna Karan

X is for: X-Ray Sweaters

I won't lie that coming up with an "x" post was an easy task, but I think I've managed to pull it off. I'm loving these crocheted "x-ray" sweaters that are perfect to transition into fall. They are heavy and yet light at the same time which will give you some versatility into how you wear them

This crocheted sweater from Old Navy won't break the bank and pulls off this look perfectly.

What I'm Reading Now: MLive - A Grand Skein

I'm so very proud of my Aunt Rachel for following her dreams and opening her own yarn shop A Grand Skein in Grand Rapids, MI. The Grand Rapids Press featured her new store yesterday in this great article you can read here on MLive. She describes her business model saying, “The success of this business is secondary. I’m trusting that I’m going to do what I love to do with the gifts I’ve been given and that those efforts will be blessed. What I really hope is to run a business that builds community and enables and empower other people." Aunt Rachel you are such an inspiration and I wish you all the best!

Weekly Pick: Missoni for Target

What could possibly crash one of the biggest shopping websites in the US? The Missoni for Target launch of course. The new collection arrived yesterday and includes an assortment of over 400 pieces of apparel, accessories and home goods. I could just imagine myself biking around the city on that bike, but at this point I'll be happy if the site still has a scarf left for me to purchase. If you were lucky enough to place an order yesterday cheers to you. In the meantime I'll keep hitting the refresh button...

W is for: White

I'm sure many of you already packed up your summer whites since it's after Labor Day, but I wouldn't put the boxes into storage just yet. I'm a huge fan of "winter whites" (yes, I did just mention winter) that bring a beautiful element to the cooler days ahead. Fashion is all about breaking rules so keep those whites around and forget about the "no whites after Labor Day". The fashion police won't be arresting anyone for this trend.

You can find a similar look with these picks:
This sea salt colored double-cloth townhouse trench from J.Crew is classy and ladylike.
A cream colored tunic dress from Zara has an edge with side zippers.

Weekly Pick: Fashion's Night Out

Get ready because this Thursday various cities throughout the world will be celebrating Fashion's Night Out. You can find all the fashionable event listings near you on the website along with information about this great event. If you're in Chicago I recommend heading over to the 900 Shops to see Brad Goreski (former Rachel Zoe stylist) or head down to Macy's on State Street to get your picture taken with Kelly Osbourne. And if that's not enough you can visit Water Tower Place to meet Teresa Giudice from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

V is for: Vests

First of all I can't believe i'm already to "v" today. It seems like just yesterday I was starting this blog and coming up with a fashion choice for the letter "a." It was easy for me to choose vests for this post because I'm slightly obsessed with this look right now for fall. In my opinion a casual vest is the perfect accessory over a dress or skirt to give you an edgy and yet polished look.

You can find a similar look here:
This canvas surplus vest from Old Navy is outdoor chic at an affordable price.
An edgy trench vest from J.Crew has a military flair that would pair perfectly with your fall wardrobe.
